Organize Everything

From your guest list to what groceries you’ll need, keep track of everything. Have all of your lists and plans in one notebook, or on a file on your desktop to help keep you organized. Once your lists are complete, you can start buying non-perishable items to help make the day before the party less stressful. Start gathering the supplies that you need as soon as you can, so you’re not stuck trying to hang last minute decorations right before guests arrive.

Send Invitations Early

Once you have a date set, send your invitations out quickly. People often have busy schedules and make plans a month, or sometimes more ahead of time. By giving your guests an early notice, you will have more people RSVP yes, and you’ll get a better idea of how many guests you’ll need to buy food and drinks for prior to the party. Ask for Help

Planning a party can be stressful, but getting help from family or friends can help alleviate stress. Recruit someone to help put up party decorations, cook something for the party, or pick up supplies at the store. You can always repay the favor when they throw their next bash. Don’t let the stress of planning alone keep you from having the party you want.

Make it Fun

Don’t get so caught up in the planning of the party that you forget to add in some fun. Make sure that you have games planned and a good music playlist selected to help keep the party lively. You want guests to have a good time and remember the event fondly. You might have to help get the party started, and show your guests what fun activities they can enjoy.

Enjoy the Party

You will be busy during the party, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun too. Be sure to take time to chat with your guests, eat some food, and enjoy everything that you put together for the party. Ask someone to take photos for you, so you can focus on the event. Don’t let the party fly by without having any fun.
